Spicy Turkey Chili with Black Beans
Ingredients
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 jalapeno, minced
1 1/2 pounds ground turkey
1 14 ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed
2 14 ounce cans diced tomatoes
1 14 ounce can hatch green chilis
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup sour cream
Preparation
- Heat oil over medium heat in a Dutch oven. Sweat onion, garlic and jalapeno until translucent.
- Add ground turkey, chili powder, cumin and coriander.
- Brown the turkey until fully cooked.
- Add black beans, green chilis and tomatoes.
- Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer.
- Simmer for at least 30 minutes, season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve topped with cheddar cheese and sour cream.
Great recipe. I, for one, could have done with more black beans, say a 20 oz. can.
