Stuffed Shells
I make a little more than a half of a box of shells according to the directions on the box, and drain them.
Ingredients (Combine):
- 15 oz. container of ricotta cheese (I use the whole milk variety but you may use the less fattening)
- 1/3 cup of parmesan cheese
- 1 large garlic clove, minced
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. oregano (optional), I usually put it in
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Preparation
- Spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of a 9" x 13" baking dish.
- Fill each shell with cheese mixture.
- Place shells on top of sauce.
- Spoon remaining sauce over the top. I usually use 3/4 of a 1 lb. 10 oz. jar (which is 26 oz.) of sauce.
- Sprinkle with additional mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350°F for 35 minutes.
